Who we are

The United Nations Representatives of Internal Audit Services (UN-RIAS) is a network of internal audit leaders from UN system organizations. It serves as a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of best practices in internal auditing across the UN system. UN-RIAS works to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of internal audit functions, supporting transparency, accountability, and good governance within UN entities. Through regular meetings and coordination, UN-RIAS facilitates the exchange of insights on emerging risks, audit methodologies, and innovative approaches to oversight and assurance.

Partnership with HLCM

The High-Level Committee on Management (HLCM) of the UN system Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) and UN-RIAS work together in a partnership arrangement to promote the exchange of experience and knowledge on areas of common interest and the coherent, efficient and cost-effective oversight and management of the organizations of the UN System.

The partnership arrangement recognizes UN-RIAS as the audit and oversight forum that brings together those responsible for the oversight and audit of organizations of the United Nations system and HLCM as the Committee comprised of the most senior administrative managers of the organizations of the United Nations System.

The recommendations and decisions that result from the exchange of practices and experience between UN-RIAS and HLCM are not binding for their respective members. UN-RIAS and the HLCM are accountable to their own constituencies and do not receive instructions from each other.
